Today's papers have one headline. The Times "The horror of Edlington": two brothers aged 10 and 12 "pleaded guilty to robbing, sexually abusing and intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to their victims, aged 9 and 11, during a pre-planned attack of extreme and sadistic violence that has drawn parallels with the murder of James Bulger". Edlington is a mining village in South Yorkshire.

( nr 225 ) Above is the scan of the Sunday Times article by Richard Brooks about famous Somerset Maugham. He was on the list of "progressive western writers" as seen by Soviet authorities. Former spy, old pederast ... .
------------------------------------------------
In the same issue of Sunday Times we read about " ... RADICAL PLAN to raise £100 billion by privatising the motorway network", presented to three main political parties by NM Rothschild bank - "Rothschild, an architect of several privatisations ...".

( nr 224 ) Adebayo is a popular Yoruba name. About 2 weeks ago I was surprised to hear a Nigerian name mispronounced so strangely! The emphasis was on the last syllable, instead of 'ba', just like Sotomayor... Yorubas have historic links with Brazil.

( nr 223 ) Above are the scans of four pages from "The Channel Islands under German rule, 1940-1945" by Madeleine Bunting, 1995. One photo, which I did not scan, is of " German prisoners of war being loaded onto ships bound for England, where they faced at least three years in camps before returning home". I suppose that is when "Matchbox" programme got their recruitment from. We know most about what happened in USA, but not in other countries.

The two top scans illustrate the difficulties with the link, as CrystalRiver observed. The same filtering ban from Hampshire County Council appeared, when I diligently typed the URL as the address. Berkeley research/posts blacklisted?...

Michael Jackson story is going to link the record number of dots. The dirtiest secret 'technologies' have been hidden in the open for too long, for far too long.

The new pneumatic entrance door installed in St.Matthews Court only about a month ago does not work as it should, - stops about an inch from the lock or slot. I hope it has been reported already. A number of burglaries were reported in our building in recent months.

( nr 221 ) Pages 72-75 from "Psychology - the science of mental life" by George A.Miller , copyright 1962.
..."Thus a hypnotist may tell the subject to trip and stumble accidentally against the first bald man he sees after he awakens. The awakened subject has no reportable memory of this instruction, he behaves quite naturally in every way; but when the signal - the bald man - appears, the subject stumbles against him, apologizes, and goes on unaware that his stumbling was not accidental."
...." A hypnotist attempted to produce a blister on the right forearm of a young woman by suggesting to her that he was applying a piece of red-hot metal to it [ !..] .
The suggestion apparently had no effect, and the hypnotist went on to other things, forgetting to cancel the blister-producing idea. The patient went home, but returned several days later suffering from a burn on her right forearm where a blister had formed on the very spot previously chosen by the hypnotist. The patient had no memory of the suggestion. She had 'accidentally' spilled scalding water on her arm when lifting a pot with her left hand to make coffee. The accident finally terminated a suggestion that the hypnotist thought had been completely ineffectual. Similar stories can be adduced by any experienced hypnotist."
